Will the converted Word document keep my original formatting?
Yes, for the most part — text, fonts, spacing and images are carried over. Complex layouts (multi-column pages, unusual fonts, heavily designed documents) can shift slightly, since PDF and Word represent layout differently. Simple text-based PDFs convert cleanest.
Can I convert a scanned PDF (an image, not real text)?
No — this tool converts the PDF’s existing text and layout into an editable document. A scanned page has no underlying text to extract, so it converts to an image inside Word rather than editable text. You’d need an OCR tool first for that case.
Is there a file size or page limit?
Yes, a server-side size cap keeps conversion fast for everyone — very large files may be rejected or take up to a minute to process. If a file is rejected, try splitting it into smaller sections first.
Is my PDF stored anywhere after conversion?
No — it’s processed to produce your .docx file and then discarded. Nothing is kept, and there’s no account required to use the tool.
What does it convert with, and why does it say "may need manual cleanup"?
Conversion runs through LibreOffice on the server, which is very good at extracting real text and structure but isn’t pixel-perfect on every layout — for tricky documents, a quick manual pass in Word afterward gets it the rest of the way.
