Frequently asked questions

Which barcode formats are supported?
Code 128, Code 39, EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, ITF and several other common 1-D symbologies. Pick the format your scanner or retail system expects before entering the value.
Why does my EAN or UPC value get rejected?
EAN and UPC formats require an exact digit count (and often a valid check digit) — if the value entered doesn't match the format's rules, the barcode can't be generated correctly, so it's flagged rather than producing an unscannable code.
Should I download as PNG or SVG?
Use SVG when you need to scale the barcode up for print without losing sharpness (labels, packaging); use PNG for quick use in documents, websites or anywhere a raster image is easier to drop in.
Is the value I encode uploaded or stored anywhere?
No. The barcode is generated entirely in your browser — nothing you type is sent to a server or kept. No account is required.
Do I need to install anything or sign up?
No. It runs entirely in your browser — no software install, no account, no email required.
